Josh Kennon - Black Belt

Josh has been training Jiu Jitsu for over 12 years across the globe. While in Oxford, Josh spent most his extracurricular time training with the Ole Miss Jiu Jitsu Club. The strong sense of community is what he credits for his dedication to the sport. Josh went on to co-found 662 Jiu Jitsu in Oxford, MS with black belt Mike Laborde.

Josh also trained extensively in catch-wrestling and boxing while attending the International University of Moscow and again when he returned to Russia for his career. A native of Flowood, Josh moved back to the United States to open the Flowood location in 2020.

On the weekends, you’ll usually see Josh traveling across the nation working as a Jiu Jitsu Referee for various organizations. Half a decade of referring experience and networking led Josh to found his own tournament company: Grapplers Den in 2023.

Our Instructors:

Each of our instructors have their own unique background of training in combat sports and self defense that they bring to their classes. You can expect to see techniques from their experience in Jiu Jitsu, Judo, Grappling, MMA, Catch Wrestling, Wrestling, Boxing, Muay Thai, and More. All of our instructors actively compete in tournaments around the nation and are qualified referees for various organizations.

Brad Phillips - Black Belt

Brad has been practicing martial arts for over 10 years. He has competed in numerous combat sport competitions throughout his career. Brad has medaled in over 100 Jiu Jitsu competitions across the United States. His passion for the art of Jiu Jitsu came when his daughter began training. Now he is able to teach several of his younger daughters in our kids program.

Brad is known for his ability to break down complex techniques into easy-to-understand concepts for our students. With a patient teaching style, Brad instills confidence and discipline in our students. Brad is consistently helping students achieve their goals and reach new levels of skill proficiency on the mat. Whether teaching a group class or providing one-on-one instruction, Brad is dedicated to helping our students achieve success in Jiu Jitsu and in life.

Ryan Moore - Black Belt

Ryan is a dedicated and skillful Jiu Jitsu black belt at Precision Martial Arts Academy in Flowood. As a black belt in Jiu Jitsu, he has honed his craft over many years and is passionate about sharing his knowledge and expertise with his students. Ryan approaches every class with energy and positivity.

He is always pushing our students to be their best by helping them reach their full potential. Our students look up to him as a role model and mentor, and his passion for Jiu Jitsu is infectious. For Ryan, teaching Jiu Jitsu is a true calling, and there are few things he enjoys more than helping others develop their skills and achieve their goals.

Emiley Mills - Brown Belt

Emiley is a Pan Am’s silver medalist, multiple Superfight champion, Nurse Practitioner, and mom who leads with both toughness and heart. She brings the same precision and care from her medical career onto the mats. As both a competitor and mom, she combines technical excellence with patience and encouragement. Emiley’s balance of care and intensity makes her an incredible role model on and off the mats.

Melissa Stevens - Brown Belt

Melissa is a Pan Am’s gold medalist, Superfight competitor, and dedicated Nurse Practitioner. She brings a powerful mix of experience, discipline, and compassion to the mats every day. As a proud mom of two grey belt kids, Melissa understands how to connect with both adults and children, helping every student grow in confidence, skill, and love for Jiu-Jitsu.

Danny Stevens - Brown Belt

Danny is a Pan Am’s medalist, Superfight champion, and SSGT certified instructor with years of experience in both competition and law enforcement with a lifetime of service and leadership. A former firefighter and SWAT team member, he now serves as the Head School Resource Officer for Rankin County. He brings leadership, discipline, and calm under pressure to every class. Danny’s approach to Jiu-Jitsu blends structure and strategy, helping students build confidence, sharpen technique, and stay composed in any situation. He’s an incredible father to two grey belt kids and a respected leader in the local community.
